The U16 Football team have done fantastically well to reach the semi-finals of the ISFA U16 Cup with a thrilling quarter final win against Ibstock Place in the third round. It was a pulsating match that Ibstock Place refused to let go of. Bedales extended their 2-0 half-time lead to 3-0 midway through the second half. With only minutes of full-time remaining Ibstock pulled off a remarkable come-back to take the game to extra-time. Again Bedales took the lead only for Ibstock to immediately bounce back yet again. Eventually, a 20 yard curling free kick from four-goal hero, Kyle Mackillop-Hall, sealed the win for Bedales. Girls’ U16 netball played Churcher’s last week: a fantastic match leading to a 26-21 victory. Hannah Mazas led the team well, with Maddy Jeffreys scoring goals from the edge of the circle. Great team effort. For the first time during the boys’ hockey season we decided to create a junior side that is a mix of Block 3 and 4. The first fixture for this side was on Tuesday at home to Winchester College. Despite a 2-1 loss, the Bedales side showed attacking intent throughout and gelled as a team. The team was led by Arthur Lingham and Hugo Burnett-Armstrong and the goal scorer was Sam Wheeler who finished calmly at the back post after a lovely flowing team move.
